Refund Policy
Last updated: 10 October 2026
1. 14-day full refund
You may request a full refund of your first Shady Notes subscription payment within 14 calendar days of that first charge, for any reason. This voluntary guarantee applies to both monthly and annual subscriptions. It is separate from the app’s free 14-day trial, which requires no card and makes no charge. Your statutory rights are not limited by this window.
2. How to request it
Email [email protected] with the subject “Refund”. Include the email used for your purchase, the charge date, and your receipt or transaction reference if available. You do not have to explain your reason for a request within the guarantee window. If you cannot send from the purchase email, we may ask for enough information to verify the payment. Never email full card details, passwords, or authentication codes.
3. Processing and payment method
We aim to acknowledge requests within one business day. Approved refunds are returned through Stripe to the original payment method; we will tell you when the refund has been initiated. The time for the credit to appear depends on Stripe, your bank, and the payment method. If it has not appeared within the timeframe communicated by the payment provider, contact us with the refund reference. Any exchange-rate differences are determined by your payment provider.
4. Cancellation and your notes
If we refund the initial subscription payment, we will end that paid subscription and stop its future renewals. Paid features may end when the refund is issued, and the app returns to Free. Your notes remain markdown files on your own disk and are not deleted by a cancellation or refund. Cancelling without a refund normally leaves paid access available until the end of the paid billing period.
5. Renewals and requests after 14 days
The voluntary first-payment guarantee does not automatically restart on renewals. Outside that guarantee, we do not ordinarily refund a change of mind or prorate unused time, including an annual plan. You can cancel future renewals through your account or contact support if you cannot access it. This does not prevent a refund or other remedy required by law. Tell us promptly about duplicate charges, incorrect amounts, an unauthorised payment, or a charge after an effective cancellation so we can investigate and correct it.
6. Problems with the product and statutory rights
If the app or paid service fails to meet an applicable consumer guarantee, contact us with details of the problem. Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, you may be entitled to repair, replacement, refund, cancellation, or compensation. Under the Australian Consumer Law, rights and remedies cannot be excluded by a store policy. Our 14-day limit and ordinary no-proration rule do not apply to those statutory remedies. Mandatory withdrawal or cancellation rights in other jurisdictions also continue to apply; this policy does not treat using the app as an automatic waiver.
7. Payment disputes and contact
You may contact us to resolve payment issues directly, but you are not required to waive rights to dispute a transaction with your bank or payment provider. We may need to coordinate with the provider if a dispute is already open to avoid duplicate refunds. This policy is provided by ROUNDRECT PTY LTD (Round Rect). For help, email [email protected].
